Users report this retinol cream is gentle and effective for beginners, helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles without causing significant irritation or dryness, making it a good starting point for those new to retinol.
The cream effectively hydrates the skin, leaving it feeling smooth and supple in the morning, and creates a moisturizing film without feeling sticky or oily.
Users have observed a visible reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots, with some noticing improvements within a few days of consistent use.
The lightweight gel-cream texture absorbs well into the skin without leaving a greasy residue, making it suitable for oily and combination skin types.
Some users, particularly those with dry or normal skin, found the cream to be very drying and not moisturizing enough, even immediately after application.
Despite its retinol claims, some users have not observed significant anti-aging benefits like wrinkle reduction or firmer skin after extended use, suggesting it functions more as a basic moisturizer.
One concern raised is the tube packaging, as some prefer encapsulated retinol in a pump format for potentially better efficacy and control, questioning if the tube affects the retinol's performance.

The Conscious Chemist Multi Peptide Retinol Lightweight Gel Night Cream is a 50g gel-cream moisturiser built for overnight skin renewal. It targets fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes, and uneven skin tone using retinol and multi-peptide as key actives. Flash AI assigns this product an AI Score of 78/100, aggregating 206 verified reviews across 5 platforms. The product scores highest for texture and absorption (90/100) and gentle retinol delivery (85/100). Reviewers across oily, combination, and sensitive skin types consistently report that it absorbs quickly, feels non-greasy, and leaves skin noticeably smoother by morning.
The formula leads with two actives: retinol and multi-peptides. Retinol works overnight to promote cell turnover and collagen production, addressing fine lines and wrinkles. A time-release formula delivers retinol gradually through the night, reducing irritation risk and making it accessible for beginners. Multi-peptides target skin firmness and elasticity alongside retinol. Marula Oil, highlighted in the product details, contributes Omega-9 fatty acids and antioxidant properties to soften, nourish, and revitalise skin. The formula carries paraben-free, fragrance-free, toxin-free, and hypoallergenic credentials, with a dermatologist-tested claim.
This gel-cream suits oily, combination, and sensitive skin types particularly well. Its lightweight texture absorbs without leaving a greasy residue, and the fragrance-free formula reduces irritation risk from sensitising ingredients. Retinol beginners benefit from the gentle, time-release approach. However, users with dry or normal skin have reported that the cream feels drying and does not provide enough moisture as a standalone product. If your skin leans dry, layer a hydrating serum underneath before applying this cream. Some reviewers also raised concerns about the tube packaging and its effect on retinol stability over time, since retinol is sensitive to air exposure. This concern is user-specific but worth factoring into your decision.
The Conscious Chemist Multi Peptide Retinol Gel Night Cream is available across 13 sellers, with prices ranging from ₹350 to ₹3194. At the lower end of that range, it delivers strong value for a retinol and peptide-formulated night cream, and review sentiment backs this up. Most positive results come from users with oily to combination skin. If you have dry skin, pair it with a richer moisturiser for full overnight hydration. For oily, combination, and sensitive skin types looking for an affordable, gentle introduction to retinol, this is a practical and well-reviewed choice.

"Soothing, No side effects and simply best!! I'm writing this review after a months usage. This product is all pro. No cons for me. Texture 10/10, Consistency and Quantity 10/10, Fragrance (Mild and soothing) 10/10. The product doesn't stick or become oily but it doesn't vanish either. It creates a moisturizing film till you wash it off. I'm not sure how effective this would be for reducing fine lines because I would have to use it for atleast 6 months, but i wouldn't mind using it for more than a year. It feels that soft and supple. It's my favourite part of the night where i just wash my face with Cetaphil and put this on , massage my eyes a bit and go to sleep like a baby. When I wake up, the skin doesn't feel heavy, it feels normal, a bit oily but not much. All in all, a worthy purchase and i would highly recommend you to atleast give this a try. Next on my list was supposed to be Foxtale night retinol serum but i feel like i should stick with this for atleast 6 months and see what happens. Wish me luck!!"
"This retinol moisturizer by CC comes in an off-white cream formula that melts into the skin and is a perfect combination to use with CC hyaluronic acid ..."
"Hydrate my skin well Reduces dullness and fine lines Keeps my skin moisturised"
Apply it at night as the final step in your skincare routine, after cleansing and any serums. If you are new to retinol, start with two to three applications per week and gradually increase to nightly use as your skin adjusts. A pea-sized amount is sufficient to cover the face and neck area.
Yes. Reviewers with oily and combination skin consistently praise the lightweight, non-greasy gel-cream texture, which absorbs quickly without leaving residue. The fragrance-free, paraben-free formula also reduces the risk of irritation from sensitising ingredients, making it a practical night cream for these skin types.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that signal the skin to support collagen production and improve firmness and elasticity. In this formula, the multi-peptide complex works alongside retinol to address fine lines and skin tightening, as listed in the product specs. Together, they target multiple signs of ageing through complementary mechanisms.
Some reviewers report noticing improvements in fine lines and dark spots within a few days of consistent use, though individual results vary. More significant anti-ageing results generally require four to eight weeks of regular nightly application. Consistent use over time is key to seeing meaningful change.
Users with dry or normal skin have reported that the formula can feel drying and may not provide sufficient moisture as a standalone product. Sensitive skin users generally find it gentle due to the fragrance-free, hypoallergenic formula. Those new to retinol should start with less frequent use and monitor their skin response before applying nightly.
Unlike a basic moisturiser that only hydrates, this cream contains retinol and multi-peptides as actives that promote cell renewal, support collagen production, and target fine lines and wrinkles overnight. The time-release formula adds a functional anti-ageing layer that a standard moisturiser without actives does not provide.
This product is available across 13 sellers, with prices starting from ₹350. Checking platforms such as Amazon India, Flipkart, and Nykaa can help you identify the best current price. Prices go up to ₹3194 depending on the seller, so comparing before purchasing is worthwhile.
Reviewers describe it as lightweight and non-greasy, with a gel-cream texture that absorbs quickly into the skin. Most users report their skin feeling smooth and supple by the next morning, with no sticky or oily residue. This makes it comfortable for overnight use, particularly for those who dislike heavier night creams.
Retinol is a well-established active ingredient for anti-ageing use, but it requires gradual introduction, particularly for beginners. The time-release formula in this product is designed to reduce irritation risk. Use it only at night, since retinol increases the skin's sensitivity to sunlight, and apply sunscreen the following morning as part of your daytime routine.
Yes, but layer with care. Apply this cream after water-based serums and toners, and before any heavier oils or occlusives if extra moisture is needed. Avoid combining it with other strong actives on the same night when starting out, to minimise irritation risk. Layering a hydrating serum underneath can also help if your skin tends toward dryness.
